Taiwan Itinerary Day 5: Beitou Hot Spring Resort
Day 5 of our itinerary is where we are going to stay a night in Beitou Hot Spring Resort. We went back to Beitou in Taipei and took the Taroko express back. The journey took about 2 hrs and cost NT$440. Our train was in the afternoon so we spent the morning and afternoon walking around, buying mochis and other Taiwanese snacks.

Tasty Taiwanese Snacks in Hualien
“The unique sweet potatoes grown in Hualien County’s Xincheng Township have become so popular that the roast sweet potato stands along Highway 9 are having trouble getting enough tubers to keep up with demand.
The favorite of tourists is probably the “Yuxin” variety, or “taro-like sweet potato,” which contains a sweet, unique flavor.” -information from taiwantoday–
HAN-dy tip: Sweet potato and taro pastries are must buy in Hualien!
Journey to Beitou Hot Spring Resort
After our 2 hr train ride, we arrived back at Taipei Main Station and changed the red line metro to Xinbeitou station.
Beitou Hot Spring Resort
Night comes much earlier in Taipei compared to Singapore. By the time we reached our Taipei, the sky was already dark. For day 5 of our Taiwan itinerary, we stayed in Beitou Hot Spring Resort.
HAN-dy tip: Beitou Hot Spring Resort also has a public hot spring pool where non-guests can pay (from NT$520) to enjoy!
Our room at Beitou Hot Spring Resort cost NT$5270 per night, including breakfast and the room was big. It had its own hot spring tub and a steam room!
The room at Beitou Hot Spring Resort was really comfy and we took all the possible chances we had to soak ourselves in the hot spring tub. Our skin became so smooth and silky!
HAN-dy tip: Be aware that when soaking in the hot spring tub, it is not advisable to soak your entire body in the hot water for prolonged periods of time. Remember to get out if you feel discomfort and hydrate yourself.
Dinner at Beitou, Taipei
We spent most of our day travelling. So for dinner, we just went to the shopping area and had KFC!
The Pokemon Go craze was still surviving then so we spent our time walking around, catching Pokemon.
We ended day 4 of our Taiwan itinerary by going back for a private hot spring bath 2.0.
