Arctic Light Hotel in Rovaniemi [Review]
Arctic Light Hotel in Rovaniemi, Finland, ranks highly on Tripadvisor. For our trip to Rovaniemi last November, we booked a night’s stay at the hotel and really fell in love with the hotel.

Arctic Light Hotel in Rovaniemi
For those we had read our previous post, due to the hefty price of Santa’s Igloos Arctic Circle, we only spent one night there. Arctic Light Hotel in Rovaniemi, which was a 10 mins drive away, was where we spent our second night.
Location of Arctic Light Hotel
Arctic Light Hotel in Rovaniemi’s city center is located near many tour agencies. During our stay in Arctic Light hotel, we actually booked two tours with Safartica, which was a 1 min walk away. So if you are looking at joining a tour, the hotel is a good place to be staying at. There were also plenty of restaurants nearby, although we didn’t manage to try any of them.
Checking in
The check-in process was a breeze and the staffs were really friendly when checking us in. They were also very helpful when we asked to book a taxi to a nearby bus station for our trip to Ivalo the next day.
Arctic Light Hotel’s Magic Double Room
The Magic Double room we stayed in cost SDG267 for a night, with breakfast provided. Upon entering the room, we’ve already felt that the room was worth the price we have paid. It was clean, tastefully decorated with ample space and was coupled with some high tech features to control the lighting of the room. Separated into the sleeping area and the living area, we regretted packing so many activities during our stay.
The bed was super comfy, making it so difficult for us to wake up the next day.
P.S.: In case anyone is wondering, the cute little polar bear on the bed costs EUR19.
Living room area with a sofa to chill and relax on while watching TV programs we could not understand.
As per the Arctic Light theme, the shower area had a lighted polar bear wall and the toiletries provided were by Rituals. Best scent ever!
Breakfast
For someone with a sweet tooth and big love for smoked salmon, the breakfast provided was 100% to my liking! Compared to the breakfast we had in Santa’s Igloos Arctic Circle, the spread provided was much much more. Once again, we didn’t get to enjoy our breakfast fully ’cause we had to catch the early bus to Ivalo.
Conclusions
As usual, we wish we could have spent more time in Arctic Light Hotel in Rovaniemi. The location was within walking distances to most places and the room was beautiful. Desserts and smoked salmon for breakfast? I’m sold! The contemporary design of the hotel also made it very instagrammable. We were glad we got to stay one night in this beautiful hotel.
